How do records warp? - the most common cause of warped vinyl records

Have you ever bought a sealed vintage vinyl record only to find out, after the shrink wrap is off, that the record is badly warped. How did this happen? The most common reason for warped records is happening in the picture above. Please don't try this at home.

Take a wide shelf, partally fill with vinyl records, and watch your albums slump into an awkward angled pile. Warped "potato chip" albums happen because the LPs are leaning under their own weight and are not straight. Vinyl records want to be archived in a completely vertical orientation.

WAXRAX designs our vinyl LP shelving as well as our LP-H console with dividers every nine inches to completely eleminate excessive numbers of records from being unsupported or jammed together. Waxrax vinyl-centric furniture not only looks good, it is the best option to catalog, access and preserve your precious vinyl record collection.
